First Person Plural: A group exhibition at St. Francis College
It’s a FIRST for us. The Openings Collective is pleased to announce our first-ever member show, happening this November at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, and featuring recent works by nineteen current members of the collective. Openings, founded in 2006, engages visual artists of all disciplines who are interested in exploring the dynamic between creativity and transcendence. The exhibition runs from November 2 – November 30, 2012.

First Person Plural is all about who we are, right now- as individual artists, and as a collective. The exhibition is being organized by Meg Graham, Iliyan Ivanov, Anthony Santella and Patricia Bellucci, and features works by Robert Aitchison, Sherry Aliberti, Virgil Alderson, Michael Berube, Sarah Hollars, Carrie Elston Tunick, Keena Gonzalez, Meg Graham, Iliyan Ivanov, David Kagan, Joey Kilrain, Daniel Nelson, Steven Palermo, Denise Penizzotto, Frank Sabatte, Patricia Bellucci, Anthony Santella, Niki Singleton, and James Vanderberg. We are First Person Plural.

Opening reception: Saturday, November 3, 2012, 2pm- 8pm
Exhibition dates: November 3-November 30, 2012

Callahan Center gallery, ground floor, St. Francis College
180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn Heights, New York, 11201 2, 3, 4, 5, R to Court Street, Boro Hall; A, C to Jay Street.

Note that if you can’t make the opening reception the space is open daily 7:00am-11:00pm throughout the show’s run. (Sometimes the space is booked for a private event. To make sure the space is open you can call the SFC Office of Special Events, at 718-489-5372

Canvas: Artists Showcase

Winter Salon – Painitngs and Sculpture

I will present new painitngs from the “Places I used to Know” series. These are reflections on the interplay between physical appearance and emotional states including anticipation, indecision and self-doubt. The series consists of 10 painitngs of two different sizes (36X24″ and 24X24″) that can be installed in various cofigurations thus revealing endless possible relations between individual works.

The Oasis

Glad to be a part of this group show honoring jazz musicians who lived and played in Harlem; I did a series of portraits of Freddy Habbard. The Oasis project trasformed the Gitler & _ gallery into a a pop-up jazz lounge with live music along side the art. My band played a gig on Nov 23.
